We are here in the Blue Mountains to support all Caminos in Spain and we are excited and willing to share the wonderful spirit of the Camino that so many of us call - life changing, wonderful and amazing.

We try to emulate the Camino  spirit and camaraderie through regular Camino Meet-ups, dinners, movie nights and self-guided training walks from a few hours up to 5 days in our stunning Blue Mountains.

We share stories and information to help those who dream of walking and those Pilgrims who have walked, as well as those curious and just wanting to know more, to understand the power and the healing that can be derived from this ancient pilgrimage.  Buen Camino
Join us at our regular Camino Meet-ups held the 4th Saturday of every month at 4.00pm at our base in beautiful Blackheath.  Come along to learn, listen, share, give back or get involved
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!

5 DAY CAMINO STYLE TRAINING WALK
Penrith to Blackheath 25-29 September 2018

Join our 5-day (or part thereof) walking adventure! Being held from 25-29 September 2018.   Members of the Blue Mountains Supporters of the Camino group (BMSotC) will be walking from Penrith, at the base of the Blue Mountains, all the way to Blackheath, near the top, finishing with a social event at Glenella Guesthouse in Blackheath.  This is a great opportunity to experience the Camino spirit right here in Australia.

If you’re thinking of walking a Camino in Spain, or other long walks elsewhere, this is a great opportunity to try out your gear and see if you like long distance walking!  And if 5 days is too long you can join the group for fewer days or just one day if you like.   Please be aware this is not a ‘guided’ walk but rather a walk with a group of Camino friends travelling up the Blue Mountains.

Each person joining will be provided a PDF walking guide showing possible walking routes and you can decide whether to walk alone or in groups on the day.  It is up to each person, and their abilities, as to which route they would like to take.   This is not a bush walk (although there are bushy sections possible as part of the route) but more a walk reminiscent of travelling a Camino in Spain including staying in albergue-style (communal) accommodation if preferred.

Walking a Camino means you might walk on dirt tracks, concrete footpaths and roads as well as through paddocks and rural scenery.  You will encounter hills and steps as Penrith, our starting point, is 25m above sea level, and Blackheath is 1,065m.
