5-Day Blue Mountains Camino Training Walk  from Penrith to Blackheath

22-26 September 2020

UPDATE 3 September 2020:  Due to overwhelming response and registrations for the 5-Day Blue Mountains Camino Training Walk, it is now Fully Booked.   Trybooking has now been closed.  It is anticipated the 5-Day walk will proceed, however the COVID-19 situation will be monitored and participants will be advised accordingly.  Registered participants will receive map information by 11 September 2020.

We thank you for your interest and participation in the 5-Day Blue Mountians Camino Training Walk and for your support of the Blue Mountains Camino Supporters group.  Buen Camino.

NOTE:  The 5-Day Walk will finish at Glenella Guesthouse on Saturday 26 September.  Due to the large number of participants there will not be the usual Camino Meetup at Glenella.  Instead, you are invited to have a BYO lunch in the rear gardens of Glenella Guesthouse.  This is an opportunity to gather at a safe distance and reflect on the past 5 days walking.  This is a bring your own lunch and rug event.

Glenella Albergue is also fully booked during the 5-day walk.

                                                                                             ****************

Due to coronavirus it is unknown when we will be able to travel overseas.  It has been disappointing for many pilgrims not being able to do your Camino this year.  It is anticipated the 5-Day Walk will proceed so you have this wonderful opportunity to do the 5-Day Camino Training Walk in the beautiful Blue Mountains!

JOIN our 5-Day (or part thereof) walking adventure!  Members and friends of the Blue Mountains Camino Supporters  group will again be walking from Penrith, at the base of the Blue Mountains, all the way to Blackheath near the top, finishing on Saturday at Glenella Guesthouse in Blackheath.  The walking distance is approximately 68-81kms depending on the route walked.

This is a great opportunity to experience the Camino spirit right here in Australia.  If you’re thinking of walking a Camino in Spain or Portugal, or other pilgrimages elsewhere, what better way to try out your gear and see if you like long distance walking!  And if 5 days is too long you can join the group for fewer days or just one day along the route if you wish.
