We are excited to announce John Brierley, renown UK author of the most popular and used Camino guide book  A Pilgrims Guide to the Camino de Santiago, a Practical & Mystical Manual for the Modern-day Pilgrim covering the Camino Frances, Portugues, Ingles, Finisterre & Muxia routes will be in Blackheath 25-27 October 2019 for his first visit to the Blue Mountains.

John is travelling to Australia to attend the inaugural Australian Friends of the Camino (AFotC) conference in Adelaide from 11-13 October where he is a keynote speaker.  He is then travelling to the various states to meetup with local Camino groups.

The program for 25-27 October for John Brierley’s visit to the Blue Mountains is a jointly organised event together with Central Coast Camino and Pilgrims of Sydney groups and hosted by the Blue Mountains Supporters of the Camino.  John will be generously hosted by Margaret & Rowan at Glenella Guesthouse.

There are several events organised including Storytelling, Saturday morning walk, an extended Camino Meetup and a Social Dinner.  The 5 Day Camino-style Walk 22-26 October,  starting in Penrith will conclude in Blackheath in time for walkers to attend the Camino Meetup.

John will present Path of Self Discovery and be sharing his reflections on how the Camino can act as a potent force for positive change.  This is your opportunity to meet the man himself, and have your Camino book/s (new and old) signed!   We hope John will join us for a bush walk or two during his visit.

We hope to see many new and experienced pilgrims from near and afar up here in Blackheath for a weekend of Brierley events.
